Project Challenge:
Create a wastewater disposal system for a 24-lot Development in Scott County.
Environmental/Regulatory Factors:
Steep, sloping terrain and variable soil conditions made identifying primary and reserve drainfield locations challenging. Approvals for the project were extremely time consuming due to Scott County requiring field verification of every septic site on every lot.
Options considered:
A community system was considered, but due to the limited number of lots it was not an option.
Solution:
The development plan changed multiple times and ultimately the project was designed around the disposal sites.
Result/Performance Data:
Approval for the development was obtained in May 2016.
