• Project Name: Seven Vines Wastewater System
  • Project Location: Dellwood, MN
  • Client: Seven Vines Vineyard

Dellwood, MN, USA

Project Challenge:

Providing wastewater treatment and disposal system for a site that is not serviced by a regional sewer line. The high strength and low flow effluent from washroom facilities in the winery required an advanced treatment system.

Environmental/Regulatory Factors:

The project design and operation were reviewed and permitted by Washington County.

Options considered:

A regional wastewater connection is not available in this area, so the only option was disposal to soil. Due to the high strength wastewater, treatment was required prior to discharge to meet discharge standards and reduce the area required for soil disposal.

Solution:

The wastewater design flow is based on 20 employees and 100 visitors per day. The Design Flow is 2,180 gallons/day. The project includes a septic tank, equalization tank, Nibbler treatment unit, clarifier tank, dosing tank and three disposal zones with trenches.

Result/Performance Data:

The system has been in operation for over four years and is performing well
